External graphics card?

Since I can't afford a decent computer, and would rather use a computer than a console, what would you recommend for an external graphics card? I'd rather not use ViDock, because at the end of that, it would be easier just to buy a computer. But since I don't have that kind of money, How would I go about doing this.
I'm on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit with 4Gb of Ram, if that matters.

Yea but then your going by usb and then it will be really slow. For 150 to 200 bucks will get you a nice fast internal vid card ati or nvidia and you also need to know how many watts your psu is.

What you see there is not a usb. Look closer.

I don't have a desktop, I'm using my dad's laptop, which has Intel integrated graphics. Really the only thing holding me back is the lack of a decent graphics card. Also, I would be using the expresscard slot.

Rolling regardless of what cable it is he can get a nice vid card on new egg for that price.

I'm assuming he is on a laptop. You can't just pop in a graphics card on a laptop.

Also Toasty do you already have the express card setup. Or is 150-200 your total budget for graphics card and the express card solution?

With the economy and everything, we have a hard time affording food each week. Really the only thing I can do is hope for a miracle lol

I think I made it sound worse than it is. What I meant was, We struggle, but we can still afford goodies every once in a while.
And what does this pci-e x16 card do?

Been googling. Your budget is just too tiny to get an express card graphics adapater with a graphics card.

Well, what kind of money would it take to play a modern game with little to no lag on low or medium settings on fullscreen? Far Cry 3 looks amazingly fun, and I would love to play it.

I tried Sager laptops, and it looks like I can get a good one for about $800-$900

Yeah, the reason I was thinking of an External graphics card is because it seemed far cheaper than a new laptop, though I would love to have my own. The only thing holding me back with the one I'm using now is the lack of a good graphics card. Everything else is fine.

I don't really care about max settings, just as long as I can play at low to medium settings with no lag. I can hardly play Minecraft without optifine because of major lag spikes every 3 seconds. If I'm lucky I can get 20 fps in far cry 2 with low settings and low resolution.
And like 19delta3 said, I'm trying to make the best out of what I have. We have an old emachines desktop, but it needs a new motherboard.
