I've already updated all the drivers
If wireless, note that the Virgin Super Hub is just awful. I know from experience (Using it now :( ).
If you can, try to get plugged in directly and see if you still get the issue then.
On a sidenote... Every other day or so, I have to turn off my router for a minute and then start it up again else my download rate drops significantly. :(
i cant really check if wired connection would help as the modem is in another room :/
Virgin media, with their super hub, im using a 3rd party wifi adaptor and only ever get DC when steam updates dota 2.
been going on awhile now but i just plod on, once the game does finally finnish its patch, i wont ever DC untill its patch time again. totally random
So you know the components, I'm running an ASUS RT-N66U router, with Cable spec'ed to 50Mbps, probably 5 meters away from my desktop. The wireless adapter in my desktop that was having issues was an ASUS PCE-N15. I swapped it out for a Linksys WUSB54G, an ALFA AWUS036H, and an ASUS EA-N66 and none of those adapters had the disconnect issue. I was able to download a full 8GB game at my full cable connection, without a single drop in download speed.
Therefore, my recommendation is to try a new wireless adapter in your computer. It worked for me. I ultimately went with the EA-N66. It's a beast.
