thank ♥♥♥♥ for that
please post reedy's if this works for you
I think that this is about combination of OS, drivers, USB adapter chipset and some bug in Steam client. Its hard to say, where exactly is the problem, i dont believe that isnt in Steam client code.
For more troubleshooting pleas add more you computer settings info:
- i have Win7 64bit
- im using Well 150CU usb to wifi adapter with this chipset Realtek RTL8188SU Wireless LAN 802.11n
- my internet provider is UPC and some Cisco modem
- my wifi router is Zyxel 419
- and my drivers were 2010.10.25 from HW CD and 2011, directly form realtek site
In SteamOS same HW is working.
I have tried:
- IPV 6 disable
- network sharing disable etc
Nothing helps.
It works, so there is definitly some Steam client or driver bug.
State of Mac drivers is unknow.
Note: Using an Ethernet cable removes this problem.
I found that the only solution apart from using a different network adapter or using an ethernet is to limit the bandwith with a program like NetBalancer, apart from that there's no fix and this problem is going back 4-5 years.
