Steam stoped working and crashed during castle crashers first time setup .

is there a way to redo the first time set up . I keep on getting error code 51 and i think its from the steam crashing during the first time set up or is it somthing else.

I had done this but neither of those are even on my pc

did you look through the list of programs that can interfere with Steam that is linked in that article - its a very long list. The usual suspect is over agressive anti-virus deciding that Steam files need to be blocked/deleted, but it could be any of the programs listed there if they are on your system.

There were only 3 listed programs on my system but they have been on this for multiple of years including my anti-virus

Belated thanks, this is an old article, precise guidelines and i honestly hand't tried #6 but i can add that to my list of faliurs, I ran everything in there and every subfile, some even done some reapairing no joy :(
I get error code 51, and then on the cache scan 1 file fales to validate and will be reaquired, but when? and i've tried everything for the last 24 hours, thats all the obvious and alot of far less obvious, still any sugestions even repeats are better than this dead end.
