Error 1711 steam wont install

so i messed up. im working with a fresh install of win8 on my new ssd. everything is peachy. steam installed fine the first time and i could log in and install games fine, but they were installing to the ssd. which is only big enough for my OS. sooooo i had to move everything to another hdd. win8 doesnt make it easy to do that, but i figured it out and changed the registries for where to direct installs and downloads. then steam wouldnt launch at all. so i deleted everything because i couldn't find an uninstall button (since theres no start menu really). and now im ♥♥♥♥♥♥. everytime i double click on the steam installer it says that there was an error and there isnt enough disk space. even though theres waaaayyyy enough disk space. internet searches yield absolutely nothing

thanks! i ended up restarting everything. therefore reinstalling windows and formatting the hard drive. up and running now and trying to screw things up again. i appreciate the help and knowledge though!
