If the error is saying exactly "Not enough storage is available to complete this operation", this means it has run out of RAM memory or is having an issue accessing it.

Uninstall the game and then download it again.

Does your system meet the required specifications? Most notably, a DX10 capable video card and Vista. Both are required at minimum.

I have found a solution! Even though some have suggested that adding /dxadapter can solve the problem, this might not be enough for this sort of issue. Hence, I have posted a step-by-step guide to solving this:

  • Restart your computer*
  • Open Steam
  • Right-click on Just Cause 2 and select "Properties"
  • Click on "Set Launch Options"
  • Insert "/dxadapter=0" (do not include the quotation marks!)
  • Press OK and return to your Steam Library
  • Right-click on Just Cause 2 again and select "Properties"
  • Click on "Set Launch Options"
  • Replace the "/dxadapter=0" text with with "/failsafe" (again, don't include quotation marks!)
  • Press OK and return to your Steam Library
  • Go to Computer-->C:Program Files (x86)-->Steam-->SteamApps-->common-->Just Cause 2-->directX-->run DXSETUP
  • After this is complete, go back to the "Set Launch Options" for Just Cause 2 and replace the "/failsafe" text with "/dxadapter=0"

*Note that this step is optional- I have only included it so that your graphics card software can install any pending updates.

The game should now run without any issues. If you have any problems during the DXSETUP stage, this might indicate that your graphics card isn't compatible with the current version of DirectX that is installed on your computer. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. Hope this works for you! Cheers.

P.S: A lot of credit for this solution should go to YouTube user 'Mango', who posted the following video on YouTube (Note: this is German!): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6v3cCM5lEQ

it worked with /dxadapter=0

I have tried to get it to work, dxadapter doesn't work, fail safe doesn't work, restarting my PC and re-installing the game doesn't work. this is infuriating because just cause 2 is one of my favorite games and when my computer had problems and had to be reset i couldn't play the game anymore. one thing i think may or may not be related to this is that my computer was reformatted from a 32 bit os to a 64 bit. now i don't know much about it or what it means, but i know that it changed and i just want this ♥♥♥♥ to work because i'm sick of working with constant errors and directx bs. and just the other day i was trying to get assassin's creed revelations to work and every time i start it it automatically stops working and o have to force it to close. to anyone who has a solution to the just cause 2 problem i will consider you a god.

Thanks
