Skype - Screen Sharing
Hey there - I've tried to read as many other Skype-related topics as possible to try to have my question answered, but I guess my attention span died out as I kept reading non-related problems. Sooooo sorry if this has been asked a million times before.

Yes I'm aware that there is some dislike with the head honcho vs Microsoft.

That aside - I'm in a long distance relationship with my boyfriend, and as Skype video call is the primary source of our communication and he likes gaming, we attempted several times to do the screen-sharing option on Skype so I could watch what he was playing as it was happening while I did other things on the computer. However, every time a Steam game is opened, it automatically blacks/whites out the screen and I cannot see anything. I'm not sure if this would be changed if the game were to be windowed or not, but I'm bummed.

Is there a way to bypass this blank so I can comment with him in regards to what he's playing or am I stuck just voice-chatting with him? Thanks!

It may have something to do with the the steam overlay.
I would definatly try to run the game windowed first but if that doesnt do the trick then you may just have to launch the game through its own .exe

Just right click the game you, or he I guess, wants to play
Hit Properties
Go to the Middle tab named "Local Files"
Now hit the "Browse Local Files" button
The application file should be right there (ends in .exe and usually has a picture to the left of the game's logo)

Hopefully this works!
