Do retail purchases count as purchases through Steam?
I can't use the community market because I haven't made any purchases between 30 and 365 days ago. But, on my transactions page, it clearly states that on December 2012 I had "purchased" Black Ops 2.
My question is, do retail purchases not count towards anything like the community market, or is it just me?

Apparently not. You could try to contact someone.

Not sure how...
Internet connection is ultra slow right now, so I'll search up how later.
I'm quite sure a purchase on Steam is required to prove your account is active and has a valid method of payment, so retail purchases do not count towards the Market use.

What does your account page say? Is BO2 listed as "Retail" or "Steam Store" in the Licenses + Subcriptions tab?

Retail purchases definately do not count as purchases through Steam - after all, with a retail product that requires activation on Steam, you haven't actually spent any money on Steam, having instead spent it in the retail store.

Like «Gғм» Kid Of The Century said, you can verify this in your account page (view - settings - account - view account history).

In this specific case and per the above, I can also confirm that a retail version of Black Ops 2 definately doesn't count as a Steam Purchase. I purchased a retail version as well that was activated through Steam, and here's how it shows up in my account history:

Item | Acquisition Method

Call of Duty - Black Ops II Retail (RoW) | Retail

For comparison, this is how an item purchased through Steam looks like on the same page:

Item | Acquisition method

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (ROW) | Steam Store

Yea, it says it's retail. Forgot to mention it in the post.
