directx 9.0c?
my OS is windows xp service pack 3. this service pack should inherently have directx 9.0c right? and if so why would an error come up saying i dont have the HARDWARE requirements to run a game?

lol yea it only needs dx9 which is why im baffled because if i didnt have the hardware to run DX9, how am i running DX9? lol
what game?
Listing your specs and game would help tremendously...

you can also try downloading the DX run time from MS

The most important thing is that your video card has also hardware direct x 9.0 c support. It isn't because that a direct x version that is preinstalled by an operating system that your video card will also support it. You can either use http://the following website to verify if you can run a game before purchasing it.

start -> run -> dxdiag {enter}

says no problems found thanks though is it possible im missing a driver command or something?
I am afraid to say but this isn't a driver issue but a hardware issue. The Intel 945GM is an onboard videochip who share it's memory with your laptop ram and is very weak (in other words will not run the recent games). This onboard videochip isn't capable of running recent games. The latest driver dates from 2008. To bad isn't possible to add a video card in a laptop. The only solution is buying a new laptop because the laptop you still have is more a laptop for watching movies, surfing, using text editors, spreadsheets, ...
aye man thanks i was looking into a new laptop or computer anyway so it doesnt bother me too much
