Wingdings 2 fonts? How on earth can I get the Vines in my screen name?
Hello all, I've recently decided to gussi-up my steam-screen name with some choice Wingding 2 symbols, to be specific:Vines (character code 0x65 [Decimal: e, Hex: e] and 0x66 [Decimal: f, Hex: f]. I got the escape codes from here: http://mottie.github.io/Unicode/wingdings.html

I've seen sites saying I can edit the "steam.styles" file (you can view the topic here: http://pulp.darkbb.com/t741-edit-your-steamstyles-and-change-an-assortment-of-things) (i've tried that and put "basefont="Wingdings 2" and it appears that that new line I made no longer exists even after I saved it.

Another site suggested I save the characters I wanted as a unicode through Notepad/Notepad++ (Here: http://www.valvetime.net/threads/guide-special-characters-in-your-source-nickname.79036/) and still no avail.

I've even tried looking around for info about converting, enabling, Wingdings 2 into a recognizable format that Steam+L4D2 can use, but no luck. What I'm looking for is "Rotated Floral Heart Bullet" and "Reversed Rotated Floral Heart Bullet" http://www.csn.ul.ie/~caolan/wingdings/proposal/

I've been to (http://text-symbols.com/tools/escape-chars/) inhopes to finding a solution, but still no luck.

Other sites, didn't even list the symbols I wanted either: http://unicode.org/~asmus/web-wing-ding-ext.pdf

I have a hunch I'm at a deadend and this isn't going to happen, but any info would be appreciated.

Your edit to the Steam.Styles file is nulled when you restart the Steam Client as it checks for "incorrect" files and redownloads the correct ones should it find any problems.

If you want to make chances like this, you will need to set it up as a custom skin. Bear in mind you'll need to manually update this everytime the default Steam skin gets a change.

Also bear in mind that, sure, to you your name may have these wingding symbols in but to everyone else it'll look "normal".

I have thought of this as well: I can see the name, but others can't. And I think I'm ok with this. Worse comes to worse I'll just get rid of it.
