Requesting key..
Hey I have two games bought Dragon Age: Origins and Might and Magic VI, It says requesting key but doesn't load even if I keep it up for an hour? i'm starting to get really pissed off with this as I submitted a help ticket about 3 days ago and have yet to get a reply, how do you get a refund on a game?? since the games don't work without a key...

I'm having the same issues with Might And Magic VI. Purchased the Complete Edition. Hangs on "requesting key". Have just submitted a support ticket so hopefully will hear back at some point today. Just want to play the game...

If you right click the game in the library there could be an option that says key...

The only thing it says when regarding key when I right click is "View CD Key". If I click on that or if I click on "Play" it comes up with a box that says I need a key to play the game. It hangs on "requesting key" and does not generate a key.

I have tried playing it...Ubisoft does all the updates and patches and then installs Uplay. I have registered an account but I obviously cannot play the game as I don't have a key. Really frustrating.

Check your email to see if the key was sent there.

Good idea but have checked my transaction emails and there is no mention of a key. Even checked my spam folder in case it has landed up there but still nothing. Guess I'm just going to have to wait for Steam to do their thing. When you spend 40 quid on a game you expect to at least be able to play it. I have 3 days off from work starting on Wednesday so hopefully this issue will be sorted by then.

I finally worked out what to do. This will hopefully work for you Saturn. What you should try is first exit Steam. Go to your steam folder and delete the "userdata" folder. Restart Steam and play. This worked for me perfectly and a key was generated. So finally got to play some Heroes VI. Already encountered a few irritating bugs eg. black screen with a cursor. This was resolved by exiting steam and starting the game again. I think Uplay is a buggy mess but at least I finally got the game going. Hope this works for you.

@gavfromct

Thanks Man, your suggestion cleared up my problem with HOMM6. I had the same problem as Saturn, put in a ticked several days ago (still no reply), but I did exactly what you said in the order you stated, fired up HOMM6 and the main game was finally unlocked. Sad that the community responds way faster than Steam itself does, my fondness for the company is losing a lot of luster but the community is spot on. Thanks again.
