Surgeon Simulator 2013 won't let me open it up.

Ok if I start Surgeon Simulator 2013 on my Mac, it will offer to restore Windows but then quickly changes to say that it quit unexpectedly, and if I click reopen it just does the same thing again! And when it does work (which it hasn't after this all happened) it constantly crashes!

Try validating the game files. Right click it in the library and validate it. This will download any corrupted or missing files. Also try restarting your PC.

EDIT: Also make sure your Mac meets the System Requirements to run the game. Be sure to get the latest drivers too.

Hmm, try a fresh install of the game, Delete local content, Install, Verify Files. Be sure to update your Graphics Card drivers too.

I'm not all that great at technical stuff, but it's a Mac OS X running on version 10.7.5 of Lion, with a 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5 processor. AMD Radeon HD 6750M 512 MB graphics. That all you need?

Also, when it crashes, it's not just with Steam games, also with Minecraft and LoL.
