Duplicated entries in steam library (PC)
I've got some duplicated entries in my PC Steam library:
- GTA: Vice City
- GTA: San Andreas
- GTA 3

It's weird because I have also GTA, GTA2, GTA4, GTA EFLC and their not duplicated.

One position is "not installed" (because i dont play in these 3 games right now) but the duplicates are marked as "not available" and when I try to install such position then Im receiving info: Grand Theft Auto III is not available on your current platform.

What can I do?
I know I can categorize my library and display only some of my games but that wont fix this problem.

Create a category called ZGarbage, placed them in there and then minimise the category.

The problem, unfortunately, cannot be fixed. The bug has been reported numerous times and remains unfixed (if I remember correctly, because of an underlying Steam infrastructure issue).

They are either made for Linux or Mac. You have them in your list because if you ever have any other computers, you may use that instead. It would be nice to hide them though.

Not quite true. The only games to have this issue are GTA III/Vice City/San Andreas and the Civilisation games.

Yep, it's working as intended.

The unavailable versions are the Mac versions and are only available when you log into Steam on a Mac.

Most games with the "Steamplay" feature don't have separate entries but for whatever reason the GTA games do (as do the Civilization IV games).

If You are right then I think Steam needs new developers. 21st century and its not possible to determine whether Im running Steam on PC or MAC? Are you serious?

Well maybe "Working as intended" isn't quite accurate but it is how it works for those games and Valve show no intention of changing it.

Thanks for the info mate!

If the steam guys have no intention of changing it... then I think they should put their heads into toilet and flush the water. STEAM DEVS seriously - it's a bug, please do something with it - if you cant determine whether Im using PC or MAC then how can you guarantee that my profile/games etc. are safe?

working as intended? that's stupid and annoying. please fix this valve.
I don't understand why this game has two listings on libraries alongside a few other games when there is the SteamPlay feature.

This is driving me insane. It's just lazy of them.

How is it annoying? When u normally view your Library just set to "Installed Games" and thus it won't show them. Problem solved.

Yes and they get hidden when u click Library > Installed Games; correct?

But yea they should update those games and allow them not to show this way. Due to SteamPlay, there is no need to have PC, Mac, Linux games viewed separately like this. It's quite simple, if u are on PC and own a game that supports other OS, the other OS version should not show up as an option on your PC.

Ahh so it was a mac platform. I'll just create a new grid icon with a mac logo on it and the problem is solved :D:

How can some one say it works as expected? You want useless icons in your library? Is that what they intend to do?

If that is what steam devs really said, it's just an excuse for a minor but annoying bug.

If a steam dev reads this... please just add an option to show/hide categories and/or games, it really takes one dev to add this flag one day. And most of library annoyances will be gone.

regards
