Data Mining
I would really like to know why steamcache.exe is bitcoin datamining my GPU into oblivion. To the point where my PC is now crippled due to my GPU running at 99% load constantly and hogging some CPU power as well. Refer to picture link if you will. I don't know what this is but it isn't right and I am taking some degree of action by trying to find out what exactly is going on here.. I did not sign on for this. Steam has since been removed as well as the problem. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/Deathcon/bitmining.jpg

Steam doesn't even accept bitcoins... and i can't say i have a 'steamdata' folder on any ofmy computers that have Steam installed on them.

The name may just be co-incidence, but have you installed any add-ons or anything to do with bitcoins?

Er, that's nothing to do with this Steam. All real Steam executable files have a digital signature from Valve proving their origin (you can see this by right-clicking on Steam.exe, Properties, Digital signature tab).

This fake thing won't have that. Also it says it's by a company called Ufasoft. Looks like someone's badly rebadged it.

And no about the bitcoin thing, I don't bother with it, and so I don't want anything to do with it. I never added anything except a paid for game. Everything was fine and dandy up until my GPU started rippin at max load. Then I found that.
I hear bitcoin has a massive CPU pull when mining for coins.. maybe you should stop the coin mining.
