FOR PEOPLE HAVING PROBLEMS CONNECTING TO STEAM
If you have errors like "unable to connect to steam" or after you tried re-installing steam and get the notice "you are not connected to the internet" and has TRIED EVERYTHING POSSIBLE THAT YOU FOUND IN THE FORUM AND IT STILL ISN'T WORKING DO THIS.

i was frustrated like many of you who can't connect to steam and i tried re-installing etc. turning off firewall blah blah blah

but I found out it's a problem with our routers ( who has this problem)
you have to go to your router and hit the RESET BUTTON ( usually you need like a pin to get that reset button ) hold it for 10-15 seconds to hard reset . Downside of this is that you have to reset your wireless again with a wireless password since its completely RESET.

after this my steam started working.
try this and let me know ! for the people who waited days to get on steam

edit: I do have a Virgin superhub ( router + cable modem in one )
so i'm not sure if you should reset both cable and router
but just try router first.....should work the same

The virgin media issue was fixed yesterday. It wasn't anything you did btw that fixed it.

yesterday wasn't working for me
nor was today......

in addition to steam a few other programs didnt work ( viber messaging didnt work, twitch tv streaming didn't work)
after resetting the router it all worked
im sure its not perfect timing. regardless, i would suggest people to try it anyways, doesn't hurt and let me know if that fixes it

I know this is an old thread but it was the first in google for searches around superhub problems and steam. I had this problem but the solution was different. If you have a super hub or super hub 2 they come with one of the dumbed down firewall settings, make sure your firewall level is set to "low", anything higher than this will stop you logging into steam, or even origin.
