Steam will not take a screen shot wile in game

i have tried every thing steam will not take a screen show wile in game ..

I just use F12 to take screenshots in-game. But you have probably tried that. Have you looked in your settings menu in Steam. Might be something there you need to activate too. You can also try to change the key for taking screenshots, and see if that works better for you. You can change the key to use in the settings menu. If that does not work for you, I am clueless.. I have always used F12 for screenshots, but I know a friend of mine needed to change the key for some reason in the settings menu.

maybe it is an other button, you can change the button in the options of steam

f12 is the default button for screenshots in the steam overlay, however in some cases games themselves use the f12 key for commands, which will either block the screenshot function or have undesirable results e.g. opening in game option menues during the screenshot.

make sure that whatever button you have assigned for screenshots isn't also assigned to some ingame function.

lately however the steam overlay has also been buggy for me and simply won't work for some games randomly(even though it has worked in the past) and also won't allow screenshots during those episodes.

I've been trying for ages to get screenshots, didn't realise you need to enable "steam community in game" which I assume stands for "overlay" which the screen-shot how to mentions.
Hope this helps someone else.

What worked for me is going to settings and checking the "Save an uncompressed copy" option under "When a screenshot is taken"
