Currency in Steam Wallet does not match the currency in the purchase.
I found the solution. The country in your Steam Profile must match the the store's region view. For example I'm living in Italy, so each time I open the store, the region is set to Italy (IT), which is Euro currency. But the currency in my Steam wallet is in USD, so to work out is I change the country displayed on my Steam Profile to United States of America. Then, I use this link http://store.steampowered.com/?cc=us which changes all the games' currency into USD, which matches my Steam Wallet. Now I can buy whatever the heck I want :P hope this helped

edit: this solution is outdated.

I am not sure. I had put up a ticket a few days ago, yet I still have the same problem. I went to europe then back and what do you know, my currency is wrong and i keep getting this message. There seems to be an error... Either if it is a problem on my end or steam's, I can't do anything about adding money to my wallet.

I got mine sorted, after abit of annoyance, steam thankfully sorted it. All you do is send steam support a message telling them your situation and asking them to change your steam wallet and account region to the country you live in, takes alittle awhile but it solves the problem.

Well I cant buy stuff because of that unexpected error. And steam hasn't responded yet. You know for a business you would think buying stuff would be easy. You would also think with that much money you would have 24/7 support....

It took a week to get it all sorted from start to finish and you will have to provide proof of where you live like drivers license or something when asked. It will convert steam wallet and store to the country you currently live in.

i did add in a few unhappy comments but a friend of mine said that cause of the summer sale that recently ended there might be a back log of problems to sort and that because steam is not actually that big a program there may not be alot of staff for it. I'm just happy its sorted
