Bioshock Infinite Will not install from disc!
I picked up Bioshock today and tried to install. After the initial steam update i entered my CD key and it registered. However, the install is not coming from the disc! I need to download 14gb worth of "stuff"?! I bought the game on disc in order to avoid the download, I live in an area where bandwidth caps are ridiculous! Someone please help me install Bioshock from the disc!

Seriously! am I the only one on the planet who bought this game on disc?!
I am having the same problem, bought the disk because of ♥♥♥♥ internet and now i have to install it via steam... if anyone could help with this, it would be great!
I'm dying here!
trying to avoid the download, as i said i have really bad internet.
The way to do this is to:
1. Delete the local content of the game (right click on the game in the steam library).
2. Insert disc 1 of bioshock infinite
3. Close steam and log off, (steam > exit)
4. Go to start (bottom left/ windows key) and then "run"
5. There type the following: "C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe" -install E:
and change the location in " " for whatever location you have steam installed in. Also change E: to whatever letter is assigned to your disc tray.
6. Press "Ok", then steam will try to log in, you log in and continue with the installation that comes up and that's the way you install from the CD.

I have tried this and it gets to about 4.6gbs into the disk install and then freezes, after waiting about 30-1 hour on this, it just says its done, doesn't ask for disk 2 or 3, it just says done and starts to download from steam...I'm really not sure what's going on and I'm trying to avoid downloading it from steam as much as possible.
Hmm, weird, it worked for me, try restarting steam and redoing all the steps again. After that I don't know what can be done, sorry.

no worries, thanks for trying though mate.
Are you in the Steam beta program? Opt out if you are.
I'm having the same problem. My install stops at 4662/17348. I have tried the method above and reinstalling multiple times, but nothing works.
Slithid, all ive come up with is wait and just accept that we have to download it :/
Fun, since Steam is estimating downloading it will take over one day.
Same problem...Steam is ticking me off...
I'm not sure what it is, because I tried installing and then disconnecting (turning off internet) and it STILL freezes at 4662.
NEVERMIND it just started installing again?
yeah, i tried redoing about 3-4 times and no forums has said anything, its stupid buying discs and not bloody using them...
