Bioshock Infinite keeps crashing
Hiya - I have just finished downloading Bioshock Infinite and have attempted to play for the last few hours.
Unfortunately the game seems to freeze repeatedly after around 4-5 minutes of gameplay. The game stops responding and I am forced to ctrl+alt+delete out and close down the game from the task manager.
I have tried running the benchmark for this game and everything runs smooth as silk. I have also tried dropping all game setting down to low and all the way up to ultra with the same result.
My specs are:
i7-2600k
GTX680
8gb Vengeance Ram
G1 Sniper3 mobo
So I can't imagine it being anything to with that.
I am currently running the 314.22 Nvidia drivers.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Cheers
Jake

Maybe its an early little bug?
I have the same issue??

Yeah - I'm thinking it must just be one of those teething problems. I've tried pretty much everything I can think of atm. I will trial my HTPC later (has a 560) to see if I have the same issues and post back.

There are tons of threads with this issue on the Bioshock Infinite discussion:

Some people are recommending getting latest drivers, turning down graphics settings, or doing this little trick to change PoolSize - http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=529440.

I don't know if any of it will work. I just installed the latest AMD beta drivers for my graphics card and changed the PoolSize. It's bed time though, so I'll turn down my graphics settings and try playing again tomorrow.

I am also experiencing this issue. Tried on 2 different high end PC's. On both, the game crashes the entire system after about 5-10 minutes of play on Ultra and High settings.

thanks for the info Schmick. I just tried it out (increased the poolsize to 640) and dropped all the setting down to low. Unfortunately I'm still getting the freezing issue. Not sure just how far to push the poolsize out so have left it at that for now.

So to sum up, so far I have tried installing new drivers, rolling back drivers, all possible graphics settings in game, increasing the poolsize, uninstalling the game and reinstalling with no luck. If I come across anything that happens to fix this I will post back.........likewise if anyone comes across a fix let us know ;)
Cheers

Did it happen to work out using low settings at all? Just curious

I have the same problem. Settings high or low, after every possible fix suggested, still freezes up after a few minutes of play every time. It runs smoothly and beautifully up to that point though.

I have created a thread on the irrational games forums too in the hopes someone there can pin point the issue. However, so far its just more of the same. Some people with the exact same specs having no troubles and others constant freezing.
Still nothing at this point

I had this problem with my GTX 670 where the driver would crash randomly every 5 - 10 mins . What i did was dropped my over clock on my gpu in evga precision to the default speeds and i havnt had a crash since. maybe some people who have their cards overclocked my might want to try this for the moment.

haha - yup - that was my first thought actually. Dropped my OC's back to stock in afterburner. Still no joy lol. Thanks for the thought though - just might be the ticket for some peeps ;)

My game runs fine, it's the benchmark utility that crashes after 5 seconds no matter what i change the graphics options to.
