Steam to PS3
I was wondering what exactly this means, I bought Deadlight and my pc barely can support it (640x400 resolution on lowest graphics settings, it said that my processor was actially better than the recomended but the graphics card ruins that) so i was wondering since it has full controller support can it be played on a PS3 (don't own one but i can borrow one). only info I can find on it is about Portal 2. also i own Starwars The Force Unleashed 2 and was wondering if this would also work since it has full control support as well. I own both of these through Steam. Bought SWFU2 back before i even knew the specs of my craptop.

Well sure but you'd have to go buy the PS3 version. Steam for PS3 is only for Portal 2 I think?

Lol if thats all its for than it was a massive waste of development on both Sony and Steams part. sure the cross platform play is cool and shows potential but if it only works on Portal 2 (and i would assume DC Universe Online would work as well granted that might not even require the steam to PS3 function)

From what I understand, it's supposed to allow cross-platform play and achievements. I think you still have to buy each version individually though which is kinda lame.

But yeah, only 1 game took advantage of it to my knowledge.

"At E3 2010, Newell announced that Steamworks would arrive on the PlayStation 3 with Portal 2. It will provide automatic updates, community support, downloadable content and other unannounced features. Portal 2's PlayStation 3 release saw Steamworks make its debut on consoles. Several features were offered including cross-platform play and instant messaging, Steam Cloud for saved games, and the ability for PS3 owners to download Portal 2 from Steam (Windows and Mac) at no extra cost. Valve's Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will also support Steamworks and cross-platform features on the PlayStation 3, including using keyboard and mouse controls as an alternative to the gamepad. Valve said they "hope to expand upon this foundation with more Steam features and functionality in DLC and future content releases". Steam has an estimated 50-70% share of the digital distribution market for video games" - found this little sliver of info which means Counter-Strike also works

It's just for cross-platform play. There is no Steam store on PS3.
Deadlight is a Microsoft game, hence no PS3 version.

Where did you hear this?

If they put Steam on the Xbox One (obviously MVR hadn't heard that that was its name despite it being announce a week or more before his comment was posted) then It would be worth purchasing, DeadLight is a great game but still can't run it, since i posted this question My craptop has crapped out and i barley was able to fix it after a month or so of attempting to get it working. anyways, im interested on the "leaked" (might be hoax) games list which included Halo 5, Halo Spartan Assault and the F2P League of Legends as a few of the several games on the list meaning the new Xbox might have keyboard and mouse control support but if they want to succeed they will still have to do a traditional console Controller for the masses of non-pc gamers, granted they will really have to work on the sensitivity of the joysticks to get them calibrated to rival those of mouse opponents for multiplayer.

All that being said, they are calling it the One to be the only media device you'll ever need, considering my PC has that covered they might just be making the new Xbox a PC themed console, something they said they were aiming for with the 360.

got off topic somewhat

Actually I've been hating on the new Xbox and I plan on getting a PS4 lol, it all comes down to if they actually make the Xbox One somewhat very similar to a PC, such as internet, games and media without the requirement of a Gold membership, as well as full steam game access then yea I'll get one instead of the PS4.
