WIndows 8 Video Viewing

Steam says that I can not view a video as I have the wrong version of flash installed and suggest me to follow a website and download the correct version from their website. The only problem is that there is no option to select that your operating system is windows 8. Is there any way to remedy the situation? Thanks in advance.

I just chose windows 7 and it works just fine.

If your videos are working at youtube and other sites or in your browser, restart steam and/or your computer.

My videos do work outside of steam, and i have restated both steam and my computer to no avail, and I would love to get windows 7 but microsoft has made it very hard to change windows OS's. Thanks for your help though.
