You can't trade games that are tied to your account. You can only trade games that are in your inventory that you bought as gifts but have not been used.

I believe that you can't sell videogames bought in Steam...
Steam's contract.

Its like an ugly woman once you make love with it, you can get rid of it !!!!

Are you saying Steam is ugly? :O
You should read the contract. XD
Steam is ugly..lemme lock the thread by saying its to stop you from getting a game cheap or from anywhere else. Why should they let you get a game from a buddy in exchange for a game from you, when they can make money out of you both by forcing you to have to buy it from them..that's why you can't trade any games on Steam, cos they would lose out on a sale if they did let you trade your games..that's not only ugly, but stinks of greedy, Capitalist ♥♥♥♥ too.

Because if everyone just passed their games along when the finished, they wouldn't be able to sell anything? :P

Everything else you buy like clothes, cars, guitars you can resel second hand
There is alway someone happy with it !!!
I own all cod games but only like mw2
So I bought the game so I should have the right to give it away to someone who likes it !!

You don't own the game, what you pay for is a non-transferable license to use it.

Actually if you read the Steam Subscriber Agreement, you don't own the game, you basically rent the liscence to play the game.

"Steam and your Subscription(s) require the automatic download and installation of Software onto your computer. Valve hereby grants, and you accept, a limited, terminable, non-exclusive license and right to use the Software for your personal use in accordance with this Agreement, including the Subscription Terms. The Software is licensed, not sold. Your license confers no title or ownership in the Software. To make use of the Software, you must have a Steam Account and you may be required to be running the Steam client and maintaining a connection to the Internet."

So as you see, it's technically not yours to sell it to someone else. Also if you search the forums, there are many threads on this issue.

Germany is actually trying to make it so you can sell used game.. atleast in Europe. But this is how it is now. You accepted the Steam Subscriber Agreement and that is how it goes. If you didn't like the idea of not being able to sell your used games then you should have picked a different service like GreeManGaming. And heck the new consoles try to make it so you can't use used games. The PS4 won't but rumors say the new Xbox will.

There were times games were boxed with a manual and poster in it.
No you dont even own what you buy!!!
If you rent it, you should be able to rent it for an amount of time

You never really owned those either. You owned the physical thing, but the data was always just licensed to you.

Haha true if you actually look at the T&C's for buying retail copies it says you can't lend them or use them in public viewing xD
