Bioshock infinite invalid CD key
i have pre purchased bioshock infinite in the retail store(GAME) in UK like 10 days ago, but the activation code send to me by email never work on steam. The error is always invalid Product code. I have already sent a question to steam but it will probably take half a yr b4 some1 in the 'customer service' feel like to reply. For me its 30 pound down the drain and what really boils my ♥♥♥♥ is not being able to play bioshock infinite. I wonder if any1 got a similar problem like me? anyway i swear to myself ill never go to GAME ever.

If the key doesn't work, you need to go back to GAME, not to Valve.

I went to GAME already( retail + webchat + email), they said they don't have the authority regarding to the code and I need to contact steam. From day 1 I got this problem, I know ill will get pinballed all over the place.I Guess ill need to contact developer....

I think GAME are fobbing you off there pal :(. If you buy someone from a company and it doesn't work or you never receive it, then it's up to them to sort it out. Are you sure what they sent you was actually a code for the game and not just a receipt number or something? If you're copying/pasting it, perhaps you have put an extra space in it or something? Receiving an incorrect key really shouldn't happen.

Yeah GAME is awful, u can hardly find a real person to contact if u got a problem let alone solve your problem. I know the space can be a problem so i try to both include or exclude it, but no matter how i type, it just not gonna work:( In desparate measures, I reinstalled steam and create new account, still its not gonna work.

Are you sure the code isn't for Industrial Revolution, a browser-based mini-game that is free with Bioshock Infinite? Follow the steps here[greenmangaming.zendesk.com] (yeah, I know you didn't buy it from GMG). If the code allows you to access the game then it isn't for BI and you should get that later.

I suspect wat u said is a possibility, the thing is i never need a code to sign up for industrial revolution, but i recall it said something like industrial revolution will be activitied once they comfirm my steam account has bioshock infinite, but the thing is i can't activitie my code for the main game at all, thus i can't confirm this. the only 'Activation code' i got from email is in this format, XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. Can u tell it is for industrial revolution or the main game?

My Industrial Revolution key is indeed in the XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX format, while my BI key is XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX.

Yup, GAME hasn't given me the full code either :( Requesting the code on their automated website just gives the industrial revolution code ><

The game is not released here yet but I received my 3 keys from purchasing a few days ago and your key is incorrect format. I think what we have here is a failure to read the email. Go back and carefully read that.

thx alot, the key indeed activities industrial revolution now i try it again. Ive been trying to contact GAME for the whole afternoon and no success. Still to this moment i haven't receive a email from GAME or steam. And I don't have a code from GAME or steam which is in this format: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX. Also, I can't find GAME posted any actricle regarding to this issue like GMG did or sent me a email regardin to this. The most hilarious thing is if I try to redeem my BI cd key from GAME online, they will give me this code: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX which is the mini game. So yeah GAME trolled me hardcore.

Hi,

Have you had any update on this as i'm in the same boat. Got the email from game with just the XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX key and nothing else. Have you received the proper code yet?

Exactly, the email is very misleading, but if it's only misleading ill be grateful of. Too bad they screw it up real bad. It is not just misleading that they almost as if disguised the BI Industrial Revolution key as the main game CD key, but the fact that we didn't get a key which we paid for is total BS. Im disgusted. For the meanwhile all i can suggest is to contact GAME by goin to physical retail store or by the webchat. If u can actually manage to find a soul to speak to it may be helpful to show them this post.

yup we are on the same boat, till this moment I still haven't receive a key via email.btw Im not aware of if GAME actually have a community. At least i can't find any sign of it's existence by google search. But hey im dumb so who knows. And I just can't spend my whole day unproductively dealing with an unproductive company.

Sounds like GAME has got the product keys mixed up, thinking that they have sent you the one for the actual game when in fact they haven't.
