Headset giving off high pitched noise

Just recently my Turtle Beach headset started transmitting an annoying, high pitched noise that my friends can't stand. Even talking through Google+ the noise was still there, also the noise isn't there when hooked up to my Xbox. So the problem was isolated to the Steam games itself, as launching a game in Origin or one installed through a disc doesn't give off the noise. The noise also occurs with games that don't have in-game voice chat, so I don't think any kind of conflict with voice chat would be causing it. I've tried different USB ports, and tinkered in the Sound Manager, but it's still there. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this, it'd be greatly appreciated!

Try right clicking on the sound icon in the notifications area (bottom right corner of your screen), click on "Recording devices".
You should see your headset there. Select it and click on properties.
From then on, I do not know what kind of options Turtle Beach provides, but usually you can see some sort of noise supression options that you should be able to enable.
If not, it is a way to see (once in-game) if it is your headset is the one causing the noise.
You can also try to switch the Steam Voice Chat settings to "Push-to-Talk" mode, to try and isolate the problem further.

Sound suppresion and push-to-talk didn't work, but after a little experiment session, we found that it only gives it off while I'm playing certain games. For example, it was awful playing X3 and Dawn of War 2, moderate on Planetside 2, then non-existant on Arma 3. Not sure why it would only make the noise with certain games, but any suggestions would be great.

Checked the Device Manager and Nividia's site and they're up to date. I just think it's so weird that it's only for certain games.

You might want to try using a different microphone. See if it is Turtle Beach drivers (if they have any.)

No drivers on their site. Tried plugging in my old, half broken, headset of the same model and the same thing was happening. I really don't understamd whats going on :/

Edit: I launched X3 (the worst offender) while I wasn't in chat, and I can faintly hear some very high pitched feedback. Just a bit of extra info.

As a workaround, you might want to try looking for some noice cancellation freeware. I looked a little and saw a couple that might be useful.

They may not be perfect, but possibly do-able.

Perhaps the problem is the port you're plugging them into then. Does it feel loose or anything?

Nope they're solid. I've tried both front and back panels. Going back to X3 again, the noises stop during loading screens. Not sure what that means. I also unplugged my microphone jack and I couldn't hear that faint buzzing from my end anymore , so it makes it seem like it is a hardware problem, but the fact that it only happens on some Steam games doesn't make sense at all.

Edit: Not a second later, I started to hear the buzzing even without the microphone jack plugged in, and now I've noticed that I can hear it through my normal speakers. I'm totally at a loss at this point. :l

Okay...so...it's not just the headset. I turned down the master volume of the all games that give it off and I can very clearly hear the noise that my friends are talking about coming through my normal speakers as well. What could this mean?

Cripes...never mind...I was stupid and left the microphone jack in when I tested the normal speakers. :/ But that means that it is the microphone jack that causes the buzzing. Why it disagrees with Steam games so much is beyond me!
