Can't upload new profile pictures. (FIXED!)

I try to change my profile picture, and it keeps saying: Missing image from upload. I press try again constantly and it stilll doesn't work.

This still isn't fixed. I've been trying for the past few days to upload a new profile pic and it doesn't even give me an error message. The dimensions and size is all correct but when I click upload it spins for a bit and then stops. No change and can only use official game avatars... Super annoying

If you guys hadn't read above, go to the steam website on your browser and edit your profile from there. When your in the edit menu, make sure the link starts with https:// instead of http:// , otherwise the same problem occurs.

Sooo I think I figured out what was wrong. Apperently the dimensions WEREN'T correct, and now Steam needs smaller icons. My current icon (Custom) is JPEG Format, 256x256 and 23.4 kilobytes. Not sure what the limit is, but this worked for me.

try upload it there.

client and webbrowser. if you already enforce https for no reason, try http.

I have the exact same problem, I changed to a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ingame avatar but now I can't even get my old pic back :(

The https:// thing fixed it for me as well. Jesus christ i had about 54 minutes of troubleshooting to get this fixed before i stumbled on that post! xD

Login into your steam account from your REGULAR browser here: https://steamcommunity.com and upload a profile picture THERE. Make sure there's "https" before the link on your address bar, otherwise just replace http with https.

Dude you are a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ saint. I hope Valve will slam this one as a sticky on their troubleshoot page for people who have issues with changing the profile pic as well.

- Side note:

After doing the Https:/ thing the uploading page told me the picture needs to be between 100x100 and 3072x3072 to upload. So the max size of 184x184 doesn't really seem to matter that much.

I'd reckon it's mostly because people think that that's the max size allowed seeing as the page shows the profile pic in 184x, 64x and 32x.

Guys please. PLEASE. This post is 3 years old. Stop posting to it. The solution is out there. Please stop typing in this forum, stop thanking people, stop posting here. All you do is repeatedly bump it back up for no reason. Stop doing this. Stop the necroposting so actual posts that need help can come to the front :X
