Can't upload new profile pictures. (FIXED!)

I try to change my profile picture, and it keeps saying: Missing image from upload. I press try again constantly and it stilll doesn't work.

You need to select a file first by clicking "Choose File".
The "Upload" button is for after you have selected your file, which will start the upload to Valve's servers.

I did. But i found out it's on certain pictures.

Yes, there's a dimension limit (resolution), size limit (couple of megabytes), and format restrictions (I think only JPEG or PNG). It should tell you which error is occuring, which you can then use another program to either resize (resolution) or reformat the picture. Also, resolution is generally linear with the size (in MB) of the picture, so if it's too big in size, resizing the resolution will fix that as well.

Sure that PNG can't be used? Cause right now my profile pic is a PNG format image and I'm trying to change it to another image which is JPEG but still getting that same damn error

This may be late, but im having this problem, and the file size limit according to the steam site is 200k (kb i guess?) my file size is 294kb, my current picture i have is like 568kb, so why cant i upload my new one?

fixed mine and its was 500 kb so i used this site http://www.picresize.com/ and made it around 150 kb and it worked after i tired everyhting from above the site worked for me so yea

You can upload image and have it output in other image formats or even icon if desired.
Good way to take HQ app/game .PNG and convert into .ICO format for use with Windows game shortcuts and such.

But for accurate resizing without the need for local photo editor, use http://www.picresize.com for that.

Unless the filename is ridiculously long, Steam should accept it. I have pointed it directly to pictures uploaded to facebook that had extremely long filenames and it accepted those.

However, image must be 200kb or below, and must be 184x184 pixels.
Otherwise u will get an upload error.

Well, i still can't upload mine, no matter size or dimensions, i accidentaly uploaded my current avatar, this one worked, but the one i want still doesn't, jpg or png
