Must close and relaunch steam client between games....

Running W7. If I play a game and then exit the game, with steam still running - and then try to launch another game (same one later or a different one - either way) - it tells me that I must have steam running to play. However, I am launching from my Steam library - so it obviously IS running. If I exit steam and then relaunch/relog back in - it works fine.

Has anyone seen this behavior? If so, is there a fix for it? Thanks!

Reset your Steam files.

I never read about this problem before mate. May be, if you install a fresh version of steam, you solve this problem. Becareful with your steamapps folder...save it, or you'll uninstall all your game with it.

cut/paste in some other folder...reinstall steam and copy it back to steam folder.

Thanks all. Unfortunately the "Steam://flushconfig" command doesn't work (not recognized as an exe or bat). If you put a space in between the Steam and : , it simply relaunches steam. WIll keep working on it.
