- innovative anti-piracy measure that makes it unplayable.
While all video game manufacturers use various methods to prevent illicitly-obtained games from loading, the programmers of the highly-anticipated Arkham Asylum have another trick up their sleeve.
Anyone who attempts to direct Batman using the "glide" button finds that the feature has been disabled, causing the Caped Crusader to plunge to his death.
"I've got a problem when it's time to use Batman's glide in the game. When I hold , like it's said to jump from one platform to another, Batman tries to open his wings again and again instead of gliding. So he fels down in a poisoning gas. If somebody could tel me, what should I do there," someone on the forums wrote.
"The problem you have encountered is a hook in the copy protection, to catch out people who try and download cracked versions of the game for free," the original developers responded.
Enjoy, if that is your case :)
OP is talking about Origins, not Asylum. And a simple clicking on his profile will tell you that yes, he indeed bought it.
The anti-piracy measures that were programmed into Arkham Asylum have absolutely nothing to do with OP's current problem. Of course, you would have known that if you had bothered to actually read what he posted.
As far as I'm aware (not tested I'm afraid) they both have issues with the glide if it detects modifications or cracks are being used. I'm not just saying yeah you pirated so screw you... rather that even a legal copy which got corrupted or modified could trigger this to occur thanks to their silly copy protection idea. It might be your issue either way, just something to consider.
Fact of the day: 89% of copy protection affects, slow down or even cause installation/running issues with legal purchased users, rather than the pirates it's designed to stop.
Have you tried right-clicking the game in Steam > Properities > Local > Verify Game Cache Files? That's where I would start.
You accused someone of piracy without even reading what they wrote, nor bothering to click on their profile.
Other than that, I haven't encountered any major bugs.
I found out of how to glide kick, I just have to click both left and right mouse button some few times... weird.
- I can't lock the glide kick from gliding, only from perched position.
- Free flow focus upgrade didn't unlocked after achieving rank 3 in the Shadow challenges.
- Critical counter won't work, even if I press it the most close to impact as possible.
- Can't do the combo "disarm and destroy" even after buying all combat upgrades possible.
- Sometimes when jumping for gliding, Batman starts making somersaults in the air instead.
- In the part of Joker's nightmare, I got stuck in the ladder one time and had to restart.
To lock the glide kick, rapidly click both right and left mouse button until it works.
- I can't lock the glide kick from gliding, only from perched position.
- The Bunley Riddler tower room is inescapable, as there's a bug preventing me from climbing into a vent that leads out of the room
Yeah man, you're a total idiot, sorry. You waded in on your high horse thinking you'd hilariously trolled this idiot pirate. You failed so hard it actually hurt to read.
