XSX/PS5 WEIRD IN-GAME CONTROLLER INPUTS

At first, both controllers would only function as a mouse, even in-game. (R would move cursor + R2 would function as the left-click, etc)

I tried fiddling with the Steam settings under "Controllers", but for the life of me I cannot find any way to disable the desktop configurations ONLY.

Well, I downloaded DS4Windows, and I did manage to get Dark Souls 3 to recognize that my DS4 is a game controller... But now the only thing not working is the left joystick? It will spin my character around but won't let me move. Even the "walk" button mapping in-game is blank, and nothing works no matter what I try to change it to...

Is this a dead zone issue? Or am I missing something with the configurations?
I had to completely disable all of the Steam controller input settings to allow DS4Windows to do its thang to make it stop functioning only as a mouse... So I'm worried about messing with the settings again, just in case I undo my progress... lol.
I never found a way to fix the XSX controller........

I'm so clueless when it comes to this stuff.
I just want my game controller to FUNCTION AS A CONTROLLER in-game... SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME!!!
