Wireless keyboard issues
I have issues with wireless keyboards on steam games. I have a dozen wireless keyboards, I have 3 laptops, 2 desktops, and a steam deck. I have tried all of my keyboards on all of the systems. Every keyboard works perfectly fine in all applications and games that do not utilize the steam launcher.

On all systems, laptops, desktops, or steam deck the wireless keyboards will go into a state where all communication is delayed, it will appear unresponsive at the time but all the keystrokes are indeed registered and then all at once submitted 5-12 seconds later. This happens incredibly frequently on all systems, but the worst of them is actually the steam deck. I’m confident this is related to steam as I’ve never had a single issue on any system ever outside of steam.

For the most part I can work around the issue with a wired keyboard, but I can’t do this while using steam deck in my entertainment space. What methods can I use to resolve this on steam deck?

I’ve tried many different keyboards, Logitech and dell. I’ve tried it in different rooms, I’ve tried it at different houses. I’ve tried it in areas that would have no external interference possibility. In all cases keyboard works just fine no issues but as soon as it’s a game launched from steam issues emerge.

I know there are thousands of other people with similar unresolved issues for over 15 years. Will someone from valve get us a solution? If the steam application is incompatible with wireless keyboard functionality can we at least get that listed?

Not sure, i agree with much here, even in the link. but wait to you have read through it all, then you might see they Con's better., not sure why Pro's about cord issue then you are gamer, but there you have it, and i can also push on the gl with have a customer on phone and your keyboard/mouse runs out of power, ( then you learn what a useless technologic, and look like a smart idea can get consequence, in a let's say 24 hour NOC. ( i ask you when do you have time for change up. ( so you see i have alot of experience in this, what will a raid leader be happy then you get team to die becauae of battery issue. ) and we are back at not a gamers choise at all.
+ battery on mouse make mouse heavyier, and be happy i and other gamers tell you this.

Other then that, welcome in the club for things look good at papir, no power cord but reality kicks in thenb things go down on it, mouse arm and so on. ( all them little things you can't read on them webpage.

And you have interference issue as page try to explan, then you said you don't have them, but read webpage again then.

My OWN laptop over 10+ years with laptop own build in keyboard, did not have a issue, same as youi explan. ( only wireless had them. )

So its not a laptop issue as fare i can understand it, it's the device itself. ( and the unit it connected with )

I doubt it will help you contact them Brand wireless support page but its worth a try.
and i bet even steam will say not a steam issue, because steam do not have keyboard option they use windows default here.

ps.
gl with find a pc technician in keyboard, it will not be normal to have so many keyboards at all, unless you had so many pc's though time, and learn off peak things.

Like dont have round F-kay and more lower button then they other keys, ( if a game use f-keys and you fumble try find them in the dark, hard learn leason again.

i cant be the only gamer that learn this,

I'm sure other steam user will add, more, this topic have valid points, but try understand why i mention them Pro and cons. ( keyboard today can be very expensive, and alot of waste money on them if you did not was satisfered with what you think you got.

I will not recommeded wireless ever to a pro gamer ( whatever that is ) someone that play many hours each day maybe.

ps.
Dont forgert there is keyboard driver aka software to them, but it don't seem to be the issue here.

I've been using wireless keyboards for years, can't say I've had an issue with Steam.

I think there's some more variables to consider outside Steam.

Are there keyboard software installs specifically for the steam deck? I can use wired keyboards on the pcs, I’ve given up there.

Example Logitec had gaming software, to all them HOT keys at keyboard, this is what we mean and hope its such is made for your Brand wireless keyboard.

Test keyboard at friend pc maybe so you dont make same mistake or just confirm it keyboard have a issue. ( idea of this so you dont have all them other app you normal do have installed more a ruleout of its software maybe.

Have you te4st this withas freshly install OS , i mean 5 pc all do it. according to you , this is not good and tahst why you should talk with them Keyboard suppoprt brand webpage.

Have you to many Radio on same frequency, that cancel each other out. ( i try ruleout things ) i can only point at test this and that you have to do the foot work, if you have not already done so.
