the items in my inventory are missing
basically, a few days ago i got an email by steam saying that i have successfully sold over 20 items on the market place, but i was haven't listed anything so i went to check my marketplace history seeing that most of my trading cards and some stuff from TF2 gotten listed to the market place and got instantly bought out (it doesn't tell me who bought it). I have steam guard active so it couldn't be someone else logging in to my account at another place right? if so, if there a way to find who did this and how to get those items back? i doubt i'll be able to get anything back but it would be great if we can get that steam account banned if someone did manage to hack in to my steam account and listed most of my trading cards and bought it for themselves.

Secure your account

1. Scan for malware https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Deauthorize all other devices https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
3. Change passwords from a clean computer
4. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
5. Revoke the API key https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey (there should be nothing in the APIKEY)

Unfortunately you will not get your items back.

It would be impossible for your items to have been sold without you or someone else doing it. Steam will not sell or remove your personal items. I would suggest securing your account and if you must contact Steam support. Just remember your accounts security is your own personal responsibility.

the thing is, steam didn't send me a email saying that i logged in somewhere else when that happened, the most recent login before that happened was back in 2024 when i got a new phone and i have steamguard and 2 factor auth on so i don't know how someone managed to get in to my steam account without accessing my phone. my steam password is also different than any of my other accounts like google account n stuff like those.

that would be very dumb of me but no it's only my pc and my phone that were logged in to my steam when i checked the authorized devices

Well, after the fact them having access is no longer needed. So they covered up their tracks.

No matter the case I would follow BeardCase31's tips and change your password and follow proper steps to secure your account. Steam will most likely not refund any money spent / items lost however secure your account and contact Steam Support about this issue for the best result.

Nobody on the discussions can necessarily help you with this issue besides advice on account safety or where to contact steam support so definitely follow his tips and contact Steam about this issue if you believe you've been compromised or lost money / items.

yea i just finished doing that but for the steam support part, i can't seem to find any way to actually contact steam support. i can only select what i needed help with and it just takes me to a different page and not the steam support contact info.

You can also check Here but again they most likely will not restore or refund any money / items lost or stolen.

You can try emailing support@steampowered.com
however again they may give you the same answer.
