You didn't delete the account.

You SAY the account wasn't hijacked.

The only other option is you are trying to log in with the profile name, not the account name. Profile names do not work to log in to the account name can't be changed, as well as the custom url CAN be changed.

Actual account names, the name ONLY YOU should have access to, are NOT changeable. NOT.

So it's one of three options here, you'll have to figure it out.
