I can’t take a screenshot on Steam Deck

I read online that to take a screenshot on Steam Deck, you’re just supposed to press Steam+R1. I’ve tried it numerous times, and it doesn’t do anything. I tried pressing both buttons simultaneously quickly, pressing and holding both buttons for a second, pressing and holding Steam then pressing R1 before releasing… nothing works.

I’m trying to take a screenshot of a funny interaction within Disco Elysium. As far as I know, the game doesn’t disable the ability to take screenshots. It even has a Collage/Photo Mode, so I would assume it works. Am I just doing something wrong?
