Can't open links on steam client anymore.
Used to be, I'd click on a link and I'd have to click okay on an external site warning and then my browser would open, but now when I click on links, nothing happens. No link works, YouTube, Discord, nothing. Any ideas what's wrong?

If you are using Android and have Chrome disabled/uninstalled, that's normal behavior because Steam in their "wisdom" hard-referenced Chrome for external links :steamfacepalm:

Steam uses the browser that you selected for the default for the OS. Make sure that the browser selected is currently up to date, and also clear steam web browser data.

If it still won't open the link when you select it try changing the default browser (such as Edge or firefox) to see if it would then work. You can also check anti-virus software that you have installed on your computer as it can stop links from opening.

If you still can't open links with the info above you can also right-click on a link then copy it into your browser and search that way, hope this has helped.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
