Getting an error when trying to find cards on the market

I've been getting this error when I try to buy cards on the marketplace:

An error was encountered while processing your request:

There was a problem communicating with the Steam servers. Please try again later.

However, I was able to list a card for sale without issues. The issue is not new, has been happening for more than 1-2 months it's just that I never cared too much about it. However, recently I wanted to build some badges and it got on my nerves.

What could be wrong? I have Steam Guard, have used the market for ages without any issues, etc, good standing account with like 400+ games. And if I was somehow restricted, why would I be able to list my cards too...?

The problem is not on your side. You are not restricted. I think it's a server problem.

Just keep trying in quick succession.

I had the same problem and managed to buy all the needed trading cards on the market to craft some badges.

Thank you very much! I tried a few times and it did work eventually. Omg I've had this issue for months. A company the size of Valve should've been able to sort this out by now...

Just keep refreshing the error page and try logging in from a different browser.

constantly happens to me as well. I think there's not more attention because people don't buy cards often enough
