Repair Library doesn't do anything...
My D drive's library went missing after the drive didn't boot with the OS once. I just restarted my PC and the drive was back, but apparently Steam had marked the library as missing.

Going to Settings -> Storage, the only option is to Add Library, which goes to D:\SteamLibrary, which I have never seen before and certainly wasn't the name of my current folder. Having an option to name to folder or select a folder here would have solved everything. As that is the only option, I accepted it, moved everything into that folder, and tried to Repair Folder, but it still shows all of my games in there as uninstalled.

I asked it to install Path of Exile (already in D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Path of Exile) and it downloaded the game from scratch, reverified the game, and now it works, but it used up an extra 36GB to store the download files while the game was already fully installed rather than just looking at the files that were already there...? It did clear the download cache once done verifying.

I have plenty of other games in that folder that it's still not recognizing. I don't want to "Add non-Steam game" since they're Steam games, and there's no "locate game" button anywhere that I can see...?

Luckily, going through the folder and checking to see what is actually using disk space is letting me manually "Install" the games and it goes straight to Verifying. Conan: Exiles is 100GB download but I only have 80GB free on the drive so it won't even let me try to start that process. The Repair Library again, should at least be doing that much, looking for game folders, but it's not doing anything.

Looks like you're past this now but to specify the location, after selecting Add Drive, click the drop-down in the 'Add a new Steam library folder' dialog box and you should see 'Let me choose another location'.

Yikes that went right over my head. Thanks tintingaroo, that's most likely the only step I was missing. Repair still could be a lot more useful, but noticing that would have probably circumnavigated the whole thing

Its just like a validate Game intergrity of Files of a game, in what it know already, this is just for library validation already there. ( that structor is correct in the library. )

it dont fix lost or not added content as index entry, ( they might add that functions someday , but maybe thery will not, who need a tool that start a search for things you should know where is. )
