I don't get E-Mails telling me about a release anymore
Hello.

For years i always got an E-Mail when a game on my wishlist released. Since 3 days it stopped. Any idea why?

I don't get emails for items on wishlist on sale since December 22nd. I opened a ticket and Steam said that it's my providers fault and said they block the wishlist mails and quoted a log with a "remote MTA status code 596" error with delivery failed. I don't think that it's my providers fault as every other mail from Steam is still arriving. But Steam is just pointing to someone else. There are lots of people here in the forum stating the same problem with emails from Steam not being delivered. Most unlikely that all their providers suddenly block those emails.

I also suffer from this problem. I've got emails regarding releases and sales for years until the 23.12.2023 and they came back briefly on the 08.01.2024, but nothing in between or since. Is there a larger thread about this issue @Spieluin?

Probably not, because most people aren't having this issue. I get wishlist emails pretty much every day, sometimes more than one. I even got one less than an hour ago. If this problem was truly widespread, the forums would be flooded with posts.

It's possible that they are blocking Steam emails that mention "wishlist" as their big sales events tend to send out a lot more emails than normal and their system may consider the flood of "wishlist" emails to be spam.

Strange, emails from Steam certainly didn't show up in my spam folder. Going as far as to refusing delivery of emails before even marking them as spam seems out of character for an ISP.

Then all emails from this address would be blocked and not only certain. And why should this happen for so many people all at the same time? Doesn't make any sense unless it's an issue on Steam's side.

Spieluin, is there any other thread there I can find these "many people" having this issue?

There is a thread called "haven't gotten a single steam notification since i made my account" where other people are having the same problem. My girlfriend also has the same problem and uses a different provider.

Some providers do consider those emails as spam since they do tend to be sent out at various times of the day, and having one item per email.

I get at least 8-9 a day for individual games on sale, at all times of the day/night.

Emails that are considered spam, my provider still delivers but puts them in a separate directory.
Also my girlfriend has the problem with Mails concerning gifts and not wishlist items. Concerning missing emails from gifts there are multiple other threads here.

It's not Provider. I got my own domain with e-mail and there is no filter on. And the most that would happen is SPAM but even that's deactivated so i get every mail even viagra and rich nigerian uncle. Plus i still get "x is on sale" and "thx for ur purchase" mails.

It's also not just "wishlist" emails (releases and sales). I'm following a few developers via their Steam curator pages and I'm not receiving any emails about their releases when I don't have them on my wishlist.

Support told me it's Email providers fault, i call bs. Lots different providers affected at same time....

if you got internet connection problem when playing games like dota 2, cs 2, pubg.........etc

are you going to blame the game and don't bother to check your router and internet service provider??????

-------------------------------------------------------

what i'm saying is the same with the problem your having about not receiving emails too.

-----------------------------------------------------

your are just pushing the blame all onto Steam Platform and the owner of Steam Platform INSTANTLY for every single problem you have here.

your never bother to do a full thorough check.

aren't your bias as a result.

p.s email providers are not "perfect" at all.

As for me I got into contact with my provider but didn't get an answer until now. But the fact that only certain emails from noreply@steampowered.com are not delivered, points to Steam being at fault. It could be that the wishlist mails have bad headers because they maybe changed something with the mail layout end of december '23. But Steam just doesn't look at it. Steam is just instantly pointing to the providers.

to "Spieluin"

it is the email providers that needs to inform the people working on Steam about the changes being done.

not the people working on Steam go to the email providers.

---------------------------------------------------------------

just like how the game developers and game publishers needs to inform Valve Company that they are going to sell their game on Steam Platform.

if the Game Developers and Game publishers don't inform Valve Company about selling games on Steam Platform

then the games from those said game publishers and game developers won't appear on Steam Platform.

p.s your latest reply shows you don't know how things work at all.
