Steam Recording massive lag/choppiness viewing/clipping vids

But only on certain games. Like for example if I try to view and clip a Half Life 2 recording, Steam lags entirely like it is running at 1fps. Including while exporting. However, if I do the same to a Satisfactory recording, there is no lag at all, including while exporting.

The games themselves run perfectly fine while recording and the exported video is also fine.

I've been having this issue with recording my game. The game itself runs smoothly, however the recording has got trash frame rate. This only started last night. I hadn't had any issues prior.
