Steam Recording not capturing audio when set to "Game audio only"
Like the title says, I don't know what the problem is, I've tried all sorts of settings in the recording feature and nothing changed, I checked my audio mixers and everything too, still Steam won't capture audio from any game I play unless I set the option to "All system audio"

I'd like to be able to clip only the game audio so if someone could please help

Same for me. It only worked for me when I chose all system audio

I'd like to say that the issue just fixed itself for me? I didn't do anything different or changed any setting since posting this, I just got up today, recorded things and audio was coming through with the game only option

Seems like it's back, but it happened only with Deadlock so far, I think it has to do with the steam recording feature crashing at random?

I think it work in beta previously but not work after that feature went to public, no idea how to fix it

For some reason it works fine on near every game, except dragon ball sparking zero. On that game it only works if it's set to all system audio

It was working fine for the games I was playing having it set to Game + Selected Apps (choosing discord canary to include audio from one specific channel)

Now today it doesn't pickup game audio or the selected app. Only getting audio if its set to All System Audio

Another thing to add, I saw that Deadlock was using the wrong audio channel which I thought was the problem, I changed it to the one that is used across everything in my computer and it still didn't fix, even after restarts and such, I really don't know what's the cause for this, I believe it's something entirely within Steam Recording that I can't change, it's probably capturing the audio of my old GPU only for this game and a few select others if I had to guess

For me it doesn't work in Hades 2 and Cult of the Lamb (even breaks remote play because of it there).

Sorry for the necro, but this is also happening to me on Helldviers 2 & TF2.

I forgot to give an update to this, I don't know why, but when I had to clone my entire HDD to my new SSD, for no good reason Deadlock is now recording audio when I pick game audio only, I'm almost sure there's some sort of setting that was changed but we're not allowed to change it ourselves
i tried it with gmod, for some reason all of the audio options isnt working not sure if its an issue on my part or that its still in beta but ill see if any other games have the same issue

Update: Apparently, switching from "Game Audio Only" to "All System Audio" in the Steam Settings tab for Steam Recording fixed my audio problem.
i did the same for both tf2 and gmod though now i managed to get a decent screen recorder so guess problem sloved btw hope everyone has a good day
