Can't change/update my showcases?

I keep on getting "Error: There was an error saving your showcase configuration. Please try again later." whenever I try to change my artwork showcase or any other showcases on my profile. It's been like this for a few days now. Anyone had a similar problem like this? and how to resolve it Any info would be greatly appreaciated. Thanks

Did you use the exploit that let you have more than 2 of the same showcase?

Yes I did. Is that the cause?
(Edit) I came to check on the guide and it's now gone.

Valve did remove one of the big known guides on how to do it and a couple other people have had this issue now as well.

I don't know if the method is patched or not though.

I see, It must be the reason why. I think Valve may have already patched it, I tried doing it just now and it reverts back to the showcase that you intend to change. But I had mine changed ages ago before it was patched. So this probably is it.

I can change some showcases tho. I just can't change showcases containing Artworks and Emoticons. I hope this gets fixed soon.

i cant change to my guide showcase too, same issue. Anyone fixed this problem?

Did you also use the "more than 2 of the same showcase?"

My real favorite guide is my guide in the window and the extra guides in the window are as if they were stuck in the window. I cannot add guides other than those.

Ahhhh so this confirms it. I guess we're screwed.....for now, I think? I really do hope we find a solution for this. A lot of people have used that guide too.

In my case I can't change artworks and anything involving emoticons. All we can do for now is just wait and see.

People have been begging for multiple versions of the same showcase instead of the largely useless ones for years, so I don't understand why they would fix such a harmless glitch.

My only theory for the glitch being patched is the people abusing the multiple artworks because it does make steam profiles harder to load and makes them laggy and steam did reduce the artwork size to 5mb to save server space so people must have went crazy duping the artwork showcase one.

I will confirm that the error message that OP mentioned is associated with the glitch. I had a 3rd Badge Collector on my profile back when I was testing it. It would continue to show that error until I removed it.

However, I did notice that changes to the showcases did in fact save despite the error message. As long as you don't remove the glitched showcase, it should still be visible. Don't know how long that will last but it's still a possibility.

People ask for a lot of things. It doesn't mean they are owed those requests. They patched the glitch because it was a glitch. It wasn't supposed to be possible.
