Achievement Showcase displays INCORRECT numbers
I recently attained level 10+ on steam so I set up my achievement showcase but a few hours after adding it to my profile, the numbers on it dropped from 1000+ individual achievements to around 800+ and my perfect game count changed from 10 to 8, which are both incorrect. Any ideas on what might have caused this issue? Please let me know if you have had a similar experience.

Furthermore, asking for clarity - are there games that generally do not count towards the achievement showcase that I would not know of? Specifically, a few of my 100 Cats games were removed (edit: from my achievements) and I wonder if this is a bug specific to that game.

Solutions to this problem are welcome. Thanks in advance.

This is normal. If you look on the store page of games, you will sometimes see on the right side a tag saying "Steam is learning about this game" or "profile features limited". These games do not show in showcases. They need to make more sales/revenue to qualify. Aside from that they cannot have trading cards and cannot have more than 100 achievements.
What you saw is the unfiltered view that is calculated in the background first. Sometimes it gets stuck and shows all games, but when you get the next achievement and the showcase updates, it goes back to the filtered "normal" view.
When I look at my perfect games I see 590, but my showcase says 455.

removed from what? when the game is deleted from steamshop, then yes, its deleted from your 100% stats too. you have the 100%, but it doesnt show up anymore in your profile.
Sometimes the stats shown in the showcases get out of sync. They are stored values. They aren't being calculated in real time each time your profile is loaded.

Try earning a new achievement to have Steam recalculate the totals, or just wait for it to get fixed on its own.

I meant removed from my list of games for selection for the showcase i.e when editing the showcase on my steam profile. The games are still in the steam shop and in my library.

I'm trying to figure out why my achievements disappeared even though the games are otherwise listed on my profile :(

This happens due to games that were 'achievement games', they were initially counted then ignored. If you have played those games with 500-5000 achievements then your showcase may occasionally fluctuate between showing and not showing them, but more often not show.

Thanks a lot for your response. This seems to be a common problem, then. It's probably just displaying the filtered view.

Hopefully steam will fix this one day.
