The controller keeps opening up Steam Overlay even though the options have already been turned off.
I only use the Xbox button for Xbox Game Bar. I already turned off the "Guide button focuses Steam" and "Enable Guide Button Chords for controllers" options, yet Steam Overlay keeps opening up when I open up Xbox Game Bar via controller. Is there any way to stop this from happening?

Go to Settings -> Controller -> Test Device Inputs -> Begin Test -> Setup Device Inputs, and then when it asks you to setup the Xbox home button just skip it. That worked for me.

It will stop opening Big Picture mode via the Xbox button and once in-game the Xbox button will only open the game bar and steam overlay should still be usable via keyboard shortcut.

stil works, thank you!
This seems really messed up, if I map the Xbox button at all, when I test the input select + start causes the Xbox button to be pressed in steam input... Makes no sense and there's no way to disable it? Anyway yeah this solution works for me for a different issue

Check Windows' Game Bar settings:
- Windows key + i (or just press Windows key)
- type and select: game bar settings
- toggle off 'Use (View) + (Menu) as Guide button in apps'

Doesn't work for me I'm afraid.
It's opening both steam and Xbox game bar now, tearing my hair out at this point
