Me too, I'm reinstalling .Net to see if it will work.

Yeah, same here. I have been onto Activison support....After 2 and a half hours...nothing. They can't even figure it out, so the devs are going to look at it.

Here is a possible resolution that I just tested on a system that was experiencing it:
1. Go to your Call of Duty: Ghosts directory, by default located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Call of Duty Ghosts.

2. Inside the game directory go down to _CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010.

3. Order the files by type and select all .cab archive files and copy these files to a temporary directory on your desktop.

4. With software like 7-Zip[7-zip.org], extract all the files within this directory. Be sure to not extract them in new directories.

5. Remove the .cab archive files and move all the remaining files to C:\Windows\System32. Confirm overwriting files when asked. You can remove the directory from your desktop.

Let me know if this resolves the issue. Thanks to Acserus for doing a remote desktop session so I could diagnose the issue.

no...does not work :((

Try reinstalling DirectX from game directory:

Go to your harddrive then Games\Steam\SteamApps\common\Call of Duty Ghosts\_CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010

Run DXSETUP

Sounds to easy to be true but worked for me.

Right the game is working for me now. This is what I did to fix it.

Before doing anything, backup the Jun2010 folder (So you will have "Jun2010" and "Jun2010 - Copy"). Go into the Jun2010 folder.

Extract the .cab files, highlight the .dll's from that and copy them into system32 AND SysWOW64.

Delete the folder and rename your "Jun2010 - Copy" to "Jun2010". Go into the folder and run DXSETUP.exe, install and run the game.

I just hope the rest of you have the same luck as me!
GLHF!

Copying to System32 seems to be sufficient. Running the setup again seems to do the trick. It probably registers the files that are now in place. I have adjusted my possible resolution towards this.
