Steam-games suddenly became painfully slow

Hi all,

Even though I searched and searched I didn't come into any relevant posts that relate directly to my problem. The problem is that all of my steam games suddenly run very, very slow, making games umplayable. The strange thing is that any of my non-steam games run perfectly fine, getting the fps I normally get. Even easy (at least should be) to run games (like Medieval II) have become choppy and thus being unplayable. Note that before this, I could run games like Shogun 2 and other more CPU-heavy games perfectly fine with maximum graphics.

ive been having similar issues, i updated my dirvers and everything and team fortress 2 is still painfully slow with many connection issues same with planetside 2, even binding of isaac is having framerate issues (super wtf). its not my graphics card or anything software or hardware because i havnt had this issue before and everything else runs just dandy including internet speed so DONT GIVE ME LINKS TO GET UPDATES FOR DIRECTX OR A MISSING .DLL ETC. If steam is just having server issues or whatever id just like to know.

no i dont, but the problem seems to have solved itself because i dont have any issues now. i just hope none of this garbage pops up once i build my gaming rig (because i obviously need an upgrade)

I have found the problem, the standard graphic card had changed for all the games i ran through steam, thanks anyway and sorry for the bother

I suddenly have this problem and it's bumming me out. Everything plays really slow in steam. Also, nobody responded with a fix for this since 2013?

stop wake dead necro threads, you most be kidding us here, user from back then cant have this anymore, sure let me be rude disk near full and OS was busy with other things.

steam user was lesser skill back then, most do not even know what windows resource manager is, and many still dont know it even today. user is getting better to it and have learn alot of things can cause this. but i doubt we can go back and ask them in that moment, is pc Idle or not.

you should respect outdate thread, no matter what any say its to late and all it will show is lack of information and even reply on it will be rude , and imo user own fault, for not have any real data to show.

2013 , my old laptap 10 years old was 3 years old and top ace laptop, not sure any can help such post.

steam do the world a favor . mark all crappy threads like this as read only so ppl cant wake them up anymore.

user could even have had a XP or vista or win7, such threads as this dont help anyone no matter what you say here.

do note Shogun 2, what a joke thats is a dual core 4 cpu , and it only use 1 cpu if ts strong enough. so NO all expert from even then , will say same thing today , your pc is not strong enough its all GPU and for scripts its CPU and I5 is a requirement, I3 from back then had bottle neck, and will micro-lag all the time. even seen a 5ghz i3 cant handle the game it do not have the cpu instruction to handle the script. ( call it bad game engine programmers, thats patch old game engine and yes it work from back then on old pc. but newer I3 cpu still had issue with the game.)

so we are back at look at max game requirement, let newer i3 pc with cpu judge this themself.
do note all that do have I5 with lesser core and nr, do not have any issue.

worst possible game you can pull out of the hat here,

game was release before D11 D9 was default and game was patch to D11
im pretty sure it never feel like a born with it, ask any S2 user.

WHO WAKES ME FROM MY SLUMBER. But seriously I dont even remember this issue, restart everything or try backdating a windows update maybe, microsoft is always ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ up.
