SOME games not showing up in library?
Some of my Steam games are not showing up in my library.

- I am 100% positive I own the games on THIS account. In fact, Steam knows I own the games. If I check my profile and look at all games I own, the games are there. If I go to the game's store page, it indicates that I already in fact own the game. But they do not show up in my library.

- I do, in fact, have "all games" checked under library. Doing this gives me a count of 89, but I own over 100 games as indicated by my profile. It is not only showing downloaded and installed games, because many of the games on the visible list have NOT been downloaded or installed.

- I have noticed a common pattern with most of the missing games. Most of the games that are not showing up are games in the same franchise (and they were possibly all purchased in a package.) For instance, Gothic II shows up, but neither Gothic nor Gothic III show up. (This caused me to erroneously purchase Gothic III on another site, only to discover that I already owned the game!) The Witcher shows up, but not The Witcher 2. Dungeon Siege III shows up, but not 1 or 2. Fallout 3: UE shows up, but neither Fallout 1 or 2. Yet all of these games can be seen when browsing my profile's game list.

- I have attempted to restart Steam. I have logged out and back in to fix the issue. This issue and the erroneous game count seem to persist even beyond many computer restarts.

t I know for a fact that many of these games have been visible in my library in the past. Yet for whatever reason, there is no option by which I can see them now. And so when I go to my list to browse for a random game to play when bored, I do not get to see them all.

Suggestions (which were not already addressed above)?

Try refreshing your Steam files.

Click here: Steam Support > How to remove and refresh your Steam files[/quote]

Refreshing your Steam files can resolve many issues that can be encountered in the Steam application, store, or games. Performing this operation will ensure that there are no issues that could be resolved with a new installation of Steam, and is a good place to start any troubleshooting process.

Thank you. I have followed these instructions word-for-word. Unfortunately, my library still only shows "89 games" and the games in question are still missing. But this will save me from attempting a clean install. I can't think of what else I could possibly try.

Only other thing I could think of:

Click here: Steam Support > Games Are Missing from the Library

Note the last paragraph of this section.

All of my games are there except one or a few of them. Why?

Sometimes Steam will appear to be functioning correctly, except certain games will be missing from your list. If you are absolutely sure that you are logged in to the correct Steam account, then the issue is most likely that your filter is set incorrectly. Please ensure that all games are visible by clicking View > All Games on the upper-left corner of the Library > Games list.

Another possibility is that some ports are being blocked by your firewall and/or router. Since Steam cannot connect on all of the ports it uses, it may run into a problem verifying one of your games. To see the list of ports and to make sure that all of the ports for Steam are open, please follow this guide.

Hm... if the games show up in your web profile game list -- did you try issuing a "download" from there? :-) I do seem to remember that the game list in the profile has various links to the Steam client that's running on the same system...

Thank you! But nope. Checked into it and neither my router nor my ISP is blocking any ports. I only use Steam from a home computer, as well.

I could try this. However, I certainly do not want to download all of these games at this time. (Not to mention, I haven't even identified ALL of the missing games, yet!) I have a decent connection speed, so it is not difficult for me to get the games only as I wish to play them. I still would like to see them in my library so that I can consider them when I am ready to get them. :)

Have you ever managed to fix the problem? Having the same issue
Wingedwing Aug 4, 2020 @ 6:16pm
It seems a recent steam error has caused this for many users including myself, Gilgamesh. Entire Fallout and Elder Scrolls series are locked out for me right now. It'll likely be resolved by steam soon.

I'm also having this issue. I've compiled a list of games I've found that are affected:

Agricultural Simulator: Historical Farming
Airport Simulator 2014
Alien Swarm
Bionic Dues
Blackguards
Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood
Commander Keen Complete Pack
Dark Souls Remastered
Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Directors Cut
Doom (2016)
Doom 3 BFG Edition
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Fallout 3 - Game of the Year Edition
FlatOut
FlatOut 2
Flatout 3
FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage
Goat Simulator
Guacamelee! Gold Edition
KickBeat Steam Edition
Middle-earth™: Shadow of Mordor™
MURDERED: SOUL SUSPECT™
Quake 4
Quake
Quake II
Quake II: Ground Zero
Quake II: The Reckoning
Quake III: Team Arena
Quake III Arena
Quake Mission Pack 1: Scourge of Armagon
Quake Mission Pack 2: Dissolution of Eternity
RAGE
Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition
Teleglitch: Die More Edition
Thief
Tomb Raider: Anniversary
Tomb Raider: Legend
Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation
Tomb Raider: Underworld
Tomb Raider I
Tomb Raider II
Tomb Raider III: Adventures of Lara Croft
Wolfenstein 3D
Worms World Party Remastered

These are only the games I have installed that are affected. Instead of a green "Play" button I get a blue "Purchase" button. Opening one of the affected games takes me to the store page.
Because my library is so large there could be more but I can't say for sure.

We are having the same issue. Games we have purchased are showing in the library but saying we need to pay for it again.
supercel Aug 4, 2020 @ 7:08pm
I am having the same issue with the 9 Tomb Raider games that I just purchased, but the definitive edition is fine. Weirdly, I see the games on my laptop, but they do not appear on my desktop. I have tried deleting steam and it didn't work. Also, the game appears as "In Library" in my store, but when I click "Play," it just refreshes the page.

I'm having the same issue right now. 4 games I recently bought aren't showing in my library. Very annoying.
UglyJackieChan Aug 4, 2020 @ 7:35pm
Try clearing download cache (Steam > Settings > Downloads > Clear Download Cache). I just tried that and it seems to have corrected the issue. Although I guess it could be a coincidence and Steam just fixed it on their end. *shrug
