Is the physical copy of Skyrim (DVD) for steam or for some other windows crap?

If u buy a Skyrim DVD and u install it would it require steam or windows live to play?

Skyrim is a Steamworks title. So yes, it will require Steam to play.
Basically is the same if you buy it here. After you register you key in your Steam account, you cant throw your DVD away.

It will require a Steam account, but not Games For Windows Live. All pc copies of Skyrim are bound to use Steamworks.

Just buy the legendary edition from Amazon. Easiest + cheapest way to get Skyrim + the DLCs)

Skyrim was originally going to use GFWL (I think it even made it on to the box?) but it was switched to Steamworks after a bit of an outcry. There is no GFWL on it now at all.
