STEPS:
1. Add origin.exe as a non-steam game. After doing that, rename it to Battlefield 4 if you like.
2. Disable Origin In-Game Overlay
-At Origin's menu, select Application Settings, and under Origin In-Game, uncheck "Enable Origin In Game"
-After an Origin Update, Steam overlay and origin overlay do not like being together. If you do enable both of them correctly, they will crash the game. This includes Battlefield 3 as well.
3. Run Battlefield 4 in 32-bit mode (x86)
-Go to origin, right-click Battlefield 4, select Game Properties. Under "When launching this game", select Battlefield 4 (x86).
-Steam overlay does not support 32-bit (x86) games yet.
Well that's about it. Another method you can use is to use this program called "Battlelogium". It's meant for Battlefield 3, but it does work for Battlefield 4. With this program, you will still need to disable Origin In Game and run Battlefield 4 in 32-bit mode
ENJOY!
