game that I activated on steam not showing up in library

I bought a game from gmg a few minutes ago. I tried to enter the product key on steam and the servers were acting up, foolishly , I tired to force it. Eventually it looked like it finally got through and steam said that the product had been successfully activated. It doesn't look it actually activated however. The game didn't show up in my library and when I go to the store page . It doesn't say I already own the game . When I try to use the key again it says that the product is already owned .

Unfortunately, you didn't even name the game.

If it's a DLC then it might not show in the library. You can also check your "account details"; it should show as a "free" shop transaction, most likely for the retail game key. Last but not least, you can also check your web profile -- it appears that for some people, the Steam client isn't particulary reliable wrt picking up new games.

same thing has just happened to me, usually the games show up instantly. i bought orcs must die 2, fallout 3, and deus ex human revolution, after 4mins orcs must die 2 showed up but the other 2 are still missing.

Ok now its showing up on my transactions list . Does anyone know if kings bounty cross worlds shows up in your library. All I'm seeing is armored princess which I already owned before I bought crossroads .

King's Bounty: Crossworlds should show up -- and it IS shown on your game list. Maybe you'll just have to quit and restart Steam in case it somehow didn't get the memo.

This is happening to me right now with the Dead Space Pack, but i used a steam wallet instead and it sometimes shows that its bought, and sometimes it dosent, no idea why its doing this

I bought Dead Space 2 and the Killing Floor bundle, killing floor is in my library but Dead Space 2 is not :(

I've logged out and back in many times...
It showed up in my transactions list...

Anyways, I'll wait some more.

Yeah, there seem to be a surprising number of these cases popping up all of a sudden, so maybe some Steam server had a hiccup that needs to sort itself out now.

Okay after I restarted my computer the game finally showed up in my library .

My friend has just bought and"acivated" a COD MW2 on steam....but unfortunatly the game does not appear in his library. When he tries to activate the code again, it says that he already owns this game and than it offers him to install the game. But in the first moments it says that the game can not be installed. Also on the Steam page of COD MW2 it does not say that he owns the game....PLEASE HELP HIM!

same is happening to me, i bought a game from g2a and activated the key, instead of "the game has been successfully activated it says "you already own the game tied to the code you used" or something like that, but I don't have the game in my library.

so I just activated a square enix masterpieces tomb rider colection and it showed me that it was added to my account but I can´t see them anywhere.... damn it...
