Why is it not okay to talk about emulation, there are emulators on steam
I own castlevania advance trilogy, bought on steam, that is an emulator. also other actual standalone emulators are on steam, yet somehow I got banned from a subforum for mentioning that I was emulating a game that I own, on my PC. I'm feeling a bit confused and not entirely sure where the line is here, this seems really arbitrary and kind of unfair. can any cast any light on this?

I just got banned for linking to PCSX2 official site, a site that doesn't contain ANY pirated software and they're busting my chops about it saying it's illegal lol. Emulators are NOT illegal. Pirated software is illegal. Anyone can upload their own roms and upscale them or play them on steam deck. Wtf is going on Valve!?

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
