Pending Balance Steam Market
Hello, I have a problem, I sold an item on steam market and the balance is in pending with this message "Some funds are pending. This typically occurs after a purchase you made has been refunded. These Steam wallet funds are currently unusable"... I never see this before and I have not doing any refund, why it says that I made an refund ?

Its a new security measurement and was introduced about a week ago.
If a item sells for a price that diverges from the average selling price of the item the payout is getting hold back for a while.
Its to prevent scammers from mass selling the items of a hijacked account.
The function is currently still a bit sensitive and flags a lot of rather normal transactions.
But dont worry, just wait a bit, the money will be freed after a few hours.

Edit: Just to clarify, this answer was correct when the system was introduced in May and it really took just a few hours.
By now its about 2 days which seems to be the standard. I cant look into the future when i give an answer, even if that would be useful.

I've just read "this typically occurs", not "that's exactly what you did". Nobody's saying you did that!

Wait til it stops pending.

You should have received an email about this explaining it.

I was wondering what this was... From what pending balance is typically used for I thought someone stole my account and purchased something.

Probably one of my foil cards selling.

I already have "pending Balance available within 24 hours" 3 times. I started trading. Is it because I sell the item at +15%~+30%?

Yes. It states in the email that the price isnt the normal price for the item.

Take for instance, someone steals your steam account and now they have access to your saved card info. A way of money laundering would be for you to sell an overpriced csgo skin by 2000% (ie; a $1.23 USD skin sells for $24.60 USD.)

So as a result, they hold the money for a bit to make sure its not fraud, that way if someone does steal your account, you can report it to Steam Support in time.

I have sold a lot of trading cards lately. After buying the Spyro Trilogy, in the top right it says that my whole wallet is pending.

But when I actually check in account details, it's only a small chunk of my wallet that is pending. Strange

Hmmm same issue here, got funds pending, valve needs to tweak this a bit further since selling CSGO items for example, has a lot of factors that can increase normal price of an item (Stickers, Float, etc) so its normal for the seller to ask a bit more than the normal price.

How about if Steam draws more attention to the ways in which users can be scamed, to post notifications on the platform itself, and that they devote themselves more seriously to prevention, than to limit everybody collectively with the use of markets and wallets.

So anoying system is flawed with cheaper items ,you can satisfy the highest buy now offer and still have pending funds because the lowest market priced item is 40 cents more. Great protection in theory but absolute brain dead execution
